Sgt J M Watson RAF: Missing Presumed Killed

Notification has been received that Sergt Jock Martin RAF is missing, presumed killed, in operations over Germany. Aged 21, Sergt Watson, whose home was at Newbridge, Dumfriesshire, was for five years a traveller for his uncle, Mr Wm Austin, draper, 1b Hoole Road, Chester. During this time he made many friends in Hoole and Chester, as he lived with his uncle and aunt at their home Emrys, Kilmorey Park Road, Hoole. Sergt Watson was flying in Lancaster ND766 7 Squadron code MG-S to bomb a flying bomb site at Coubronne. All seven crew were killed.
