HOOLE SOLDIER KILLED IN ACTION

Mrs. Boyer, 57 Phillip Street, Hoole, has received news that her husband, Pte F. Boyer was killed in action in Belgium on September 24th. Pte. Boyer, who was 23, was educated at All Saints School, and for many years was a member of 2nd Chester Company of the Boy’s Brigade. For a time helped at the All Saints Hoole Children’s Church.

He was employed at Brookhirst Switchgear Ltd, and was called up in the first days of the war. His unit, however, was sent abroad and as he was underage, he was transferred to his previous employment as a machine setter, and later to Napiers Ltd Liverpool. He was recalled to his unit in 1943, and has been abroad three months. He is survived by his wife and 18 months old daughter and two adopted daughters. His mother and father Mr and Mrs F. Boyer, live at 16 Cedar Grove Hoole.
