RAF WARRANT OFFICER KILLED IN ACTION

Warrant Officer G E Shone RAF, navigator, who was reported as missing in July, is now reported as killed in action. Navigator Shone, whose home was at 50 Westminster Road, Hoole, was a native of Buckley, being the eldest son of Mrs G Shone and the late Mr G Shone of Lane End, Buckley and nephew of Mr Carey Davies.

He was educated at St Matthew’s School and Hawarden County School. Joining the RAF when he was 16 years old, he had had 13 years service. His mother resides in Queensferry. Warrant officer Shone was 29 years old, and is survived by his wife and two children.
